Official statistics say don’t trust official statistics

Only a third of people trust official statistics – according to official statistics.

An Office for National Statistics (ONS) poll of more than 1,000 adults also found the majority of the public thought figures were manipulated for political purposes.

If you know someone is a liar, do you believe them when they tell you that they are lying to you?

  1. Just because people don’t trust statistics doesn’t mean that they are wrong. It’s all to do with perceptions and prejudice . . . and fear of something they don’t understand.
