Drunk Shoots Self While Trying To Shoot Bees

Blair Man’s Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound Alcohol Related

A combination of alcohol, bees and a gun resulted in a Williamsburg man making a trip to the hospital Sunday.
The incident happened around 2:00 Sunday yesterday afternoon in Frankstown Township in the Canoe Creek area.

Even sober, using a pistol to kill insects is a really bad idea.

Surf’s Up

Arlington man injured while trying to ‘roof surf’ on highway

An Arlington man was critically injured Thursday night when he tried to “roof surf” atop a car traveling down a highway, police said.

The unidentified man, 24, has life-threatening injuries after trying to climb out of a Scion xB and onto its roof. He fell from the car onto the highway but was not struck by any vehicles, authorities said. The man was transported to a hospital by helicopter.

I’m resisting all the easy jokes about the xB, and even the ‘hey ya’ll, watch this’.  Hopefully he is an organ donor.

Sunbathing On The Train Tracks

Man has narrow escape on tracks

A homeless man narrowly escaped death or serious injury yesterday afternoon when he was hit by a CSX train while lying on the tracks near Middle River and sunning himself, Baltimore County police said.

Shortly before 1 p.m., a CSX engine pulling 29 freight cars was traveling about 30 mph in the rear of the 9200 block of Pulaski Highway in Middle River when the conductor, William Dunnane, 61, saw what he thought was a log lying across the tracks and applied the train’s brakes, county police said….

Police said the man, John Steinbrickner, 61, apparently moved off the tracks in time to prevent being run over and sustained only a minor injury to his left knee.

You’d figure that being homeless, he’d have something better to do than to sunbathe on the railroad tracks. Like looking for a job, or panhandling or something. He was injured – he didn’t move quite fast enough to get out of the way. They lost track of him shortly after they took him to the hospital.

Teasing a crocodile will let you get a better picture – and you might even survive

Crocodile attacks backpacker in Australia

A backpacker in Australia got the fright of his life when a massive crocodile he was “teasing” suddenly exploded from the water and nearly sank its teeth into him. The 16 foot-long saltwater crocodile came within an arm’s length of inflicting serious damage to the tourist, if not killing him. Novon Mashiah, 27, an Israeli backpacker, spotted the big crocodile during a fishing trip in the Northern Territory…. “I began playing with it for a photo,” Mr Mashiah said. “I was pointing at it when it suddenly jumped up at me – I didn’t realise that crocs were so aggressive.”
